Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore National Park is located between the Aravali Mountains and the Vindhya plateau in eastern Rajasthan. The Rivers Chambal in the South and the Banas in the North bound the Park. The Park is being considered as one of the famous and former hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur. It was declared a game sanctuary in 1955 and later became a National Park in 1980.

Ranthambore is the best places in India to see tiger in their natural Jungle habitat. Tigers can be easily spotted even in the daytime. Due to their lack of fear of human presence in vehicles is excellent for tourists, as they get to see the tigers often. The Park is covered by dry deciduous type of vegetation and has about 300 species of trees and plants, with the Dhok dominating the vegetation.

Ranthambore is also cited as a heritage site because of the pictorial ruins of the fort within the park. There are many water bodies located all over the park, which provide perfect relief during the extremely hot summer months for the forest inhabitants. Three big artificial lakes – Padam Talab, Malik Talab and Raj Bagh enhances beauty of the park. The park is a home for different species of animals and birds.

WHEN TO VISIT : The Best Time to Visit Ranthambore National Park will be from 1st October to 30th June. Rest of the Time Park is closed for the Visitors.

CLOTHING : Cotton or linen full-sleeve outfits which match with surroundings like dark green, muddy-brown and rocky-grey are the ideal clothing color. Avoid shiny or reflective clothes during park safari which may diverts or attracts wild animals & birds’ attention which may become cause them leaving the place.

Nearest rail-head Sawai-Madhopur is 14 km away from Ranthambore National Park. The railhead is well connected with different cites and places in India. A bus or taxi from the Sawai Madhopur railway station would get you easily to the Ranthambore National Park.

OPENING OF PARK : Every Year Ranthambore National Park remains open from 1st October to 30th June for visitors. The park is close from July to September for visitors.
