Mount Abu is a pleasant green oasis in the southern tip of Aravalli Range in Rajasthan. During the period of the Rajput Maharajas, the majestic ambiance was used as a place of leisure by the royalties. Later it was leased by the British government from the then Maharaja of Sirohi for use as the headquarters of the resident to Rajputana.
Mount Abu still bears the remnants of the royal patronage as is evidenced by the numerous recreation bungalows of the British and the hunting palaces of the Rajputs. It’s cool climate, lakes, waterfalls, beautiful scenic places, wild life sanctuary and green forests makes it the most popular summer hill resort.
