Chitai- Golu Temple

Dedicated to Golu Devta, an incarnation of Gaur Bhairav, Citai temple is situated around 7 km from Almora. Surrounded by dense pine forest this temple was constructed in the 12th century by a general belonging to the Chand dynasty. It is believing that the deity of this scared temple is make every wish come true. Devotees come here and writing their wish and problem in a letter to addressing “Golu Devta” and pinned it in the premises of the temple. Temple walls are covered from devotees’ letter. After completing the wish devotees hang a brass bell in the temple premises. You can see thousands of bells hanging & ringing in and around the temple. This temple is an important religious attraction of the region.
