Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park was created on 1 June 1955 is a beautiful place to unwind with nature by your side and indeed a wonderful experience in itself. The landscapes and the surrounding luxurious meadows along with the wooded strands and the dense maroons of forests offer magnanimous sightseeing experiences for the nature lovers. Making the land more beautiful and adorable, the crystal clear streams amidst the dense jungle cleanses the surroundings and makes the wildlife unrivalled.

Kanha National Park is an invaluable treasure house of Indian wildlife where one can experience pristine wilderness. The Park is the ideal home for wide ranges of wild creatures; right from the mighty tigers to the most populated Barasingha and the countless species of plants, birds, reptiles and insects. Dense forested zones with good crown cover have abundant species of climbers, shrubs and herbs flourishing in the understory. Aquatic plants in numerous tal (lakes) are life line for migratory and wetland species of birds.

The climate and atmosphere is simply outstanding that draws multiple attentions while touring across its corners. The forest of the Kanha was inhibited by two indigenous tribes of Central India, the Gonds and the Baigas. The vicinity of the park is still occupied with the villagers of these tribes.

WHEN TO VISIT : The period between November to March is excellent for visiting Kanha National Park. This period is excellent for visiting the National Park as the rain fall during monsoon rejuvenated all the nature & vegetation.

CLOTHING : Cotton or linen full-sleeve outfits which match with surroundings like dark green, muddy-brown and rocky-grey are the ideal clothing color. Avoid shiny or reflective clothes during park safari which may diverts or attracts wild animals & birds’ attention which may become cause them leaving the place.

OPENING OF PARK: Every Year Kanha National Park remains open from 15th October to 30th June for visitors. The park is close from July to October for visitors.

The Tourist Zones: Kanha National Park divided into four different zones. They are:

  • Kanha Safari Zone
  • Sarhi Zone


PERMIT : Permits obtain from the concerned park authority before you make entry to the Park. Tourists can obtain day visit permit at entry gate.
